Lotus
Globe Tag
This
tutorial is written for Paint Shop Pro
8. It should be possible to do it with
versions 9 and X but it is not possible in
versions lower that 8 as they do not have
the Balls and Bubbles effect.
Supplies
you will need:
Lotus
Blossom Tube - Save this to
your psp tubes folder. There is no
need to unzip it.
Lotus
Globe Presets - Save this to a temporary
location and then unzip it to your
"C:\My Documents\Paint Shop
Pro\Presets" folder.
Scarlet
Streaks Fill Pattern - Save this to your
hard drive and open in PSP.
Duvall
Font - or a chunky font of your choice.

| Create
a new image 300 x 300 White
background, Raster
|
| Layers
menu, New Raster Layer
Click
on the Tube tool and select the
Lotus_Blossom-JH tube
On
the Tool Options Pallet, set the Scale
to 55
Click
on your canvas just below the centre -
If the lotus blossom is too low on
canvas its lower petals will stick out
from the sides of the globe, but it
need to be just below the centre so
that it looks like it is sitting in
the bottom of the globe.

| Effects
menu, Artistic Effects, Balls and
Bubbles
Use
the drop down list at the top to
select the lotus_blossom_tutorial-JH
preset, and then click OK.
Make
sure you have the scarlet_streaks
pattern open in PSP, minimized.
Make
sure your lotus globe image is the
active image - click its title bar if
you are not sure.

| Layers
menu, new Vector Layer
Click
on the Text Tool
On
the Materials Pallet, set the
foreground colour to Null 
and the background material to
pattern.
Click
on the pattern block and select the
scarlet_streaks pattern (it should be
at the top of the list). Angle =
0, Scale = 100%

| On
the Tool Option Pallet, set the
following:
Create
As = Vector
Font = Duval
Size = 36
Stroke Width = 0
Anti-Alias = ticked (set to smooth on
PSP 9 and X)
Alignment = Centre
Auto Kern = ticked
Click
in the bottom, centre of the
canvas. Type in your text and
click Apply.
Stretch
the height of the text a little and
position it just above the bottom of
the canvas.
Objects
menu, Align, Horz. Centre in Canvas

| Layers
menu, Convert to Raster Layer
Effects,
3D Effects, Inner Bevel
Click
the pull down list at the top and
select the lotus_globe_text-JH
preset. Click OK.
Layers
menu, Merge, Merge All (Flatten)
Save
as a .jpg file. |
